Dyani went to her first hunter show at Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy.  Susan Bucci showed her in the schooling hunter under saddle classes.  Despite never having been in an indoor arena before and never having shown, Dyani did very well.  On Saturday she placed 3rd out of 9.  On Sunday there were 18 horses in the class!  Dyani handled the large class like a pro and placed 4th out of the 18.  We were so pleased with her placings and even more so by her calm and quiet demeanor during the entire weekend.  Dyani is continuing in full training with Susan and will start showing over fences in 2012.

Dubonnet is being leased and has moved to Hearthstone Riding Stable in Houston.  We look forward to hearing updates on her as she helps her new rider move up from first level.

December 2010
Julie and Dubonnet were the BACH Year-end 3rd Level Adult Amateur Champions.  Dubonnet injured her suspensory in the pasture in July but is fully recovered and is back in full training.

September 2010
Our 2010 colt, Runkuraqay by Rubignon, received a Premium award at his ISR/Oldenburg inspection.  Runi is for sale and will be weaned and ready to go to a new home in October.  (Please see his page under Sales Barn for photos, complete pedigree and more information.)

Danae is going very well walk/trot/canter under saddle and will come home from the trainer's mid to late October.  She will be a wonderful horse for an intermediate rider looking for fancy gaits in a smaller package.  She would also make a great jumper or event horse.

June 2010
Congratulations to Lucy Scarbrough and Whimsical!  They won all their classes and were champion of the schooling hunter division at the June Pine Hill show.  Whimsical is by Walk on Top out of Inca and was bred and raised by Triple J Ranch.

Julie and Dubonnet were Houston Dressage Society Adult Amateur high point champions at the June BACH/Topsider show.  They once again showed 3rd 1 and 2.

April 2010
Our mare Inca (by Ideal out of a TB mare) delivered a bay colt by Rubignon around 8:25 p.m. on April 22.  He has white on all 4 legs and a tiny star.  This lovely guy will be for sale.

Congratulations to Brittany Greco and Tomboy who finished on their dressage score of 24.50 and won their division at the Holly Hills Horse Trials April 17 and 18.  We are very excited about the great partnership they have formed and wish them continued success.

Dyani is in training with Susan Bucci and is doing very well so far.  She is a barn favorite with her sweet temperament and lovely hunter movement.  She is very amateur friendly and is going to be a wonderful partner for some lucky hunter rider!

February 2010
After a year hiatus (mostly due to building our house), Julie and Dubonnet got back into the show ring.   They did 3rd 1 and 2 and received a 61.5% on 3rd 2, which was the first time showing that test.  They were the BACH adult amateur high point champion of the show.

We are anxiously awaiting our Rubignon foal out of our Ideal mare, Inca.

While Summer is improving, she is not yet sound enough to ride at more than a walk.  We are considering breeding her this spring but have not made a final decision.

December 2009
We got a good report from our vet visit with Summer.  While not ready to go back to work quite yet, there was significant improvement since our last visit 5 weeks ago and she is now "cleared" to start going out.  Both Summer and I are very happy about that!   I am looking forward to putting her back to work in the spring when the weather is nice.

November 2009
Congratulations to Bebe and Brittany of Tally-Ho stables in Louisiana on their acquisition of Tomboy.  We have been enjoying all the wonderful reports of how well the mare is doing and how much they are enjoying her.  I shed a few tears when they pulled away with Tomboy in the trailer but am so glad she has found such a wonderful home.

October 2009
My dressage mare Summer fractured the coffin bone in her left front and will be out of work for 4-6 months.  I feel fortunate that it was not worse but am very sad not to be able to ride and train her.  She is my favorite (but don't tell the others!) and riding her always makes me smile.  But, she has so much personality (she is the barn clown and the biggest dork) that she still makes me laugh almost every day.   I definitely want a foal from her some day so maybe this spring will be the time to breed her.

September 2009
I brought Dyani home from training and she quickly settled back in.  I am doing basic dressage with her 3 or 4 times a week.  She is progressing nicely and is going quietly walk/trot/canter.

July 2009
MOVING DAY IS HERE!  The truck will arrive at 8 a.m. on the 29th.  We are excited but it is also a little weird to be packing up and leaving the house we have lived in for 13 years.

I went to see Dyani a week before the move (I should have been packing but I really wanted to see her and ride her.)  She is doing well and her steering has improved.  Even chicken me cantered her with absolutely no problem.  We rode outside of the arena and after a strong reminder that yes, even *my* right leg means something, she was quite good.  She is very quiet under saddle - almost on the lazy side.  She will come home near the end of August, after we have had a chance to get all settled from the move.  I have decided to do some basic dressage training with her and then she will go on to hunter training in the fall or winter.  I am looking forward to training her myself for a few months.

June 2009
Congratulations to Whimsical and trainer Susan Bucci - the pair was CHAMPION of their division at the Spring Flowers hunter show at GSWEC.  Whimsical was bred and raised by Triple J Ranch and is owned by Dr. Lucy Scarbrough (formerly Faulkner.)  Whimsical's 1/2 sister, Dyani, is for sale - see her page under Sales Barn for more information.

Dyani is doing well and is now going w/t/c under saddle.  She is going to spend another month just being ridden out on the trail to develop more forward and build up strength.  She will start either hunter (or dressage) training after that.  Her current trainer has raved about how smart and willing she is.  I rode her when I visited and although she is still very green, she felt quite safe and really does have a good attitude.

May 2009
Dyani has been with the trainer for 2 weeks and is happily walking and trotting under saddle out on the trail.  We received a glowing report about her great attitude and willing disposition.

Inca is in foal to Rubignon with a "due date" of April 2010.  We are really looking forward to this cross.

April 2009
Congratulations to Whimsical and trainer Susan Bucci!  The pair earned a 3rd place and 1st place in the schooling hunter over fences division (out of 9 entries) at the GHHJA show held at Pine Hill.  Whimsical was bred by Triple J Ranch and is owned by Dr. Lucy Faulkner.

We have booked a breeding to Rubignon and will be breeding Inca to him this spring.  We were very excited when Rubignon returned to the US and will be anxiously awaiting a 2010 foal by him!

March 2009
BACH sponsered a Jane Savoie clinic March 21 and 22.  Dubonnet was a demo horse (ridden by Donna Meyer) on the 21st and Julie rode Dubonnet in the clinic on the 22nd.  It was a great, educational weekend!

November 2008
Dyani is doing well and is longeing almost like an "old pro."  I have even been on her several times.  She will now get some time off for the winter and start back to work in the spring.

May 2008
What an eventful month!  We made the "big move" and moved the 5 mares out to our Brenham place.  (Danae, the yearling, remains at Mission Bay Farm with her 2 yearling friends that she is growing up with.)  It is amazing how much *stuff* has to accompany 5 horses when you move!  I had to make several trips with the horses and each time the trailer dressing room and the truck were filled to the brim.  My husband volunteered to make the trips with me but there was no room for him in the truck!  The mares have settled in and we finally figured out a turnout arrangement that makes everyone happy.  We love being able to finally enjoy our beautiful barn and pastures and our outdoor ring is serving us well so far.

Dyani came home from training towards the end of May.  It was great for her to go live somewhere else for 6 weeks and get introduced to work.  We quickly determined that she is a late bloomer and needs some more time to mature physically before doing too much under saddle.  However, we are continuing her ground work at home and she is a model student - very quiet and respectful and as always just loves the attention.  She has definitely gone through a growth spurt but is still very gangly looking.  Even in this bit of an awkward stage, her lovely gaits are evident.  She is very sweet and we are enjoying having her back home.  For someone willing to wait until next spring to start her back under saddle, she is quite the steal at her current price!

April 2008
Julie and Dubonnet made their show ring debut with a 61.2% on Third Level Test 1.  It was the first time for Julie to show Third Level.  We are looking forward to the rest of the show season.

February 2008
Our new dressage mare Dubonnet arrived from Oak Hill Ranch on February 1.  We are looking forward to getting to know Dubonnet better and hopefully showing later this year.  Dubonnet is a dark bay mare by the Danish warmblood stallion Rambo.  So far she is a barn favorite with her sweet temperament.

January 2008
Congratulations to Iron Horse Farm and their client on the purchase of our AHS broodmare Savanah.  We are excited about her new home and want to see foal pictures next year!

April 2007
Congratulations to Lucy Faulkner and Whimsical (bred by Triple J Ranch) on their successful first hunter show.  Lucy and Whimsical competed in the Green as Grass division (2'3" fences) at the show held at Pine Hill on April 28.  Whimsical is just 4 years old and had never even jumped an entire course before.  Lucy and Whimsy got two 2nd place ribbons and a 5th place ribbon over fences.  Great start to their show career!  See pictures from the show below.
